Success is no lottery for Synot
G3 June 2005
Despite the prediction that the market would quickly adopt VLT (video lottery terminals) gaming, traditional mechanical reel slot sales remain buoyant. ... Synot's Petr Zamecnik said "We have new products in the Linear cabinet that are proving very popular, in the last four months selling 600 pieces." Asked to explain Synot's game success in the market (he) explained that the company's relationship with JPM International, the UK-based AWP manufacturer, continues to bear fruit, with the companies having signed a long-term distribution agreement. ... He said "Right now, sales of the linear machine project (JPM's high-end cabinet) are doing very well. We were initially afraid that the Linear model would be too expensive, but price has not proved to be the main issue, which has truly surprised us. Czech market players are conservative and sooner or later video will come. But we have a strong law, and video right now can't provide the games needed under these conditions.
